Setesdal Man's Cardigan 2510-07 | Printed Knitting Pattern
The Setesdal Men's Cardigan is a traditional Norwegian colourwork cardigan worked in Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt. An icon of Norwegian knitting tradition, the cardigan can be worked with or without the characteristic small contrast-colour motifs known as lus across the body and sleeves.
The printed pattern includes instructions for two different constructions, so you can choose to knit your cardigan from the top down or from the bottom up.
The cardigan is worked in the round, with the knitted fabric cut to create the front opening and armholes. This traditional construction allows the colourwork to be worked continuously in the round before the cardigan is finished.
Please note: This is a written knitting pattern, but the colourwork pattern is worked from charts. The construction also involves cutting the knitted fabric for the front opening and armholes.
