Bramble & Fleece, formerly By Laxtons, celebrates British wool, Yorkshire spinning heritage and beautifully considered natural-fibre yarns. Spun in Yorkshire using generations of expertise, the collection combines traditional craftsmanship with carefully sourced fibres and contemporary colour palettes to create characterful yarns for knitting and crochet.
Our Bramble & Fleece collection includes the popular Sheepsoft range in 4-ply, DK and Aran weights, Wooltrace in DK and 4-ply, and the Wooltrace DK Makers Palette of coordinating 25g balls for colourwork. Versatile, dependable and a pleasure to work with, these yarns are designed for everything from everyday garments and accessories to cosy knits, stranded colourwork and smaller creative projects.
Sheepsoft combines soft, lustrous Bluefaced Leicester with strong and durable Masham wool. The result is a beautifully balanced British wool yarn with excellent stitch definition and gently heathered shades inspired by the Yorkshire landscape. Available in 4-ply, DK and Aran weights, Sheepsoft works beautifully for sweaters, accessories and layers, with the Aran weight offering a little more warmth and substance for cosy knits.
Wooltrace blends British wool with alpaca for natural warmth, softness and a gentle halo while remaining lightweight and breathable. Available in DK and 4-ply weights, it is a lovely choice for sweaters, shawls and accessories where the beauty and character of natural fibres can really shine.
For colourwork, the Wooltrace DK Makers Palette brings together 12 carefully chosen Wooltrace shades in handy 25g balls. Designed with colourwork in mind, the palette is an invitation to experiment, explore and create, with harmonious shades for Fair Isle, stranded knitting, motifs, borders and smaller projects.
