Standard Delivery ServiceFor a delivery address in the UK, we offer the choice of Royal Mail 1st class "packet", Recorded Signed For™ "packet" service or Royal Mail Special Delivery™ next day. Provided the goods are in stock, customers can expect delivery in 2 to 5 working days. However, if opting for the Recorded or Special Delivery option, a signature will be required upon receipt. Although we despatch daily, orders placed after 12:00 mid-day are unlikey to be sent off that same day. At busy times it may be that your order will be sent a day or two later. Also, the local Post Office has half-day closing on Wednesdays. However, we aim to please and if you have an urgent request, please use the Contact Us form to let us know; there is a later collection in a nearby town. To get an idea of postage costs, just add items to your shopping basket and then click on the "estimate delivery" button. Large Letter versus PacketIf your order is sent as a Large Letter we will refund the difference in postage and packaging charge between Packet and Large Letter. Special Delivery™ Next DayIf you require this delivery option, the order must be received before 12:00 mid-day. Worldwide DeliveryAs standard, deliveries throughout the world will be sent Royal Mail International Signed For™ "small packet", there is also an option for "extra insurance" if your order value warrants that additional cover for peace of mind. On the whole, international deliveries tend to take 3-5 days from date of despatch. This method also provides a tracking number for the order. | ![]() |
VAT
VAT is removed from the cost of goods and postage and packaging for customers who reside outside the EU.
Customs Declarations
The cost of the goods contained within the package is stated on the customs declaration - form CN22. You will have to pay duty at the rate relevant in your country of residence.
Delivery Address
You can have up to five different delivery addresses in your account options (ideal for taking receipt of your order at work or sending a gift). Please be sure that you provide the correct delivery address - sometimes PayPal has a different address logged and you may need to add something in the "comments" box when completing your order with us.
Free Delivery
At present we offer free delivery within the UK on orders over £75.
If you live in or around Stanford in the Vale, I can deliver your order in person or at the Cast On! Knitting Group meeting at the Horse and Jockey.
General Advice
The majority of our UK orders are "packets". If your package is small enough to be sent as a "large letter" we will refund any difference in postage. We make a nominal charge for packaging; it is not our intention to 'profit' from postage and packaging. If you have any questions or would prefer to use a different method of despatch, please use the Contact Us form.
Distance Selling Regulations
Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (DSRs) are designed to protect customers who are not physically present with the seller at the time of purchase. They cover purchases made via email and the Internet, together with telephone and mail order within the EU.
They only apply to transactions between businesses and consumers (individuals acting outside the course of their business) and do not include business-to-business contracts and auctions.
Under the Regulations, consumers have the right to:
- details in writing about the supplier and the terms of the transaction,
- written confirmation of their orders,
- further information, including a notice of cancellation rights, the complaints procedure, after-sales services and guarantees,
- delivery within 30 days unless otherwise agreed
Consumers have a cooling-off period of seven working days in which to cancel the contract, starting from when the goods are received, without having to give a reason.
If the Regulations apply, Customers may cancel goods purchased from The Little Knitting Company by sending a written notice of cancellation by post. The notice of cancellation must be delivered within seven working days of the date of delivery of the goods.
The Customer will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to The Little Knitting Company if they exercise this right of cancellation under the Regulations. We advise that the Customer obtains proof of postage from the Post Office as we reserve the right to refuse a refund if an item is lost whilst being returned. If the Customer does not return the goods to The Little Knitting Company, the Customer is under a duty to make the goods available for collection at the Customer's expense from the address to which they were delivered.
The Customer is under a duty to retain possession of the goods whilst awaiting return to The Little Knitting Company and to take reasonable care of them during this period. The Customer will be liable for any loss of or damage to the goods if he or she fails to comply with this obligation.
Any credit or refund for goods returned under the Regulations will be for the cost of the goods less any postage and packaging charges incurred. In any event, a credit or refund will only apply if the goods are in an unused and "as new" condition. The refund will be issued against the original debit or credit card used for payment.
