A smashing project for perfecting the basic knit and purl stitches (shown here in Golden Sand, now sold out, Isabelline a good alternative). The main body is stocking stitch with a purl stitch stripe detail. This project can easily be finished over a weekend.
Your kit to knit this hot water bottle cover includes:
- 100g of our all natural undyed 85% Wool 15% Alpaca
- one pair of 25cm (10in) long 5mm responsibly sourced wooden knitting needles
- pattern with written instructions
Designed to fit a "standard" hot water bottle measuring approx. 19cm x 32cm.
Skills that will be practised: cast on, knit, purl, increase by knitting front and back, yarn round needle to create eyelets, skpo (slip one, knit one, pass the slipped stitch over) decrease, k2tog (knit two stitches together) decrease, cast off knitwise and purlwise.
